IU DAY WAS A SUCCESS!

Being among one of the most highly anticipated event of the year, the International Understanding (or commonly known as IU) Day turned out to be a complete success!

This annual event is usually organised by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu (RCKK) but this year, the rotarians have decided to combine all the other RCs of Sabah to live it up a little bit more. Aside from that, this year's IU day was combined with a charity event whos main purpose is to eradicate polio disease, which makes this year's event slightly different from the previous years. IU Day is essentially a day whereby the participating schools: SM All Saints,
SMK St. Francis Convent,SM La Salle, SM Lok Yuk, Maktab Sabah and SM Stella Maris come together to introduce foreign countries.

This year, we had South Africa from AS, Russia from SFC, Hawaii from LS, America from LY, Spain from MS and last but not least, Egypt from SM.

But of course, before the war, a tough battle had to be fought.
Preparation week
.
2 long weeks filled with eager eyes in the earlier hours only to go back home exhausted. Hours after hours were spent in school and of course, things did get a little chaotic here and there but as capable convent girls, we managed it well :)

Here are a few pictures from the event. Enjoy!

We worked really really really really really hard on this.
Really hard.

In the end, we managed to nab the award for best decoration. Even though we could not par to last year's standard of 6 out of 7 awards, it was all worth the sweat and pain. Everyone did their part, everyone had their fun!
