New Generation Assembly Group 11



On the 14th and 15th of September 2012 , the New Generation Assembly Zone 11 was conducted in Outward Bound Sabah , Kinarut . This enlightening camp consist of the newly elected Board of Directors from 5 various school namely SM St.Francis’ Convent (M) , SM All Saints , SM La Salle , SM Lok Yuk and Maktab Sabah . The prestigious Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu was also present in this event.
Mainly, the purpose of the camp was to acknowledge the duties that were assigned to the BOD’s. Other than that, this event was able to create the chance for the BOD’s from various school to know each other well. The following paragraph explain the fun activities and exciting experience that was carried throughout the camp. J

2.30 – 3.30 pm
Arrival and Registration

           -  Registration was done by our school .
     - It started and ended quickly . J
3.30 – 4.30 pm
Check In and Team Dynamics

          -  After check in , we were asked to change to our sport attires.
           -  A few groups was formed from different school and we played some mini games.
5.00 – 6.00 pm
Beach Run

         -   It was tiring but extremely fun. J
6.00 – 7.00 pm
Freshen Up  Session

7.00 – 8.00 pm
Dinner

            - We ate according to our group that was formed earlier. J
8.30 – 10.30 pm
Talk Session

           - Before the talk started , we have a singing session to loosen up.
          -    A speech from the President of Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu , President Iskandar.
          - We were divided according to our post for the talk.
          -  The talk was conducted by the knowledgeable Rotarians.
10.30 – 10.50 pm
Games


          -  It was led by Chelsea and Rowena Lee.
         -   We played Ice Breaking ,  Drop and Run and Know Your Partner Well.
10.50 – 11.00 pm

Morning Exercise

          -  We played various games given by the facilitators which needs good communication skills .
7.00 – 8.00 am
Breakfast


8.00 – 8.30 am
Room Inspection
          -  We cleaned our room quickly and assembled at the assembly spot.
          -  Our school was awarded The Cleanest Dorm. J
8.30 – 9.00 am
Flag Raising Ceremony
          - We started the ceremony with The Word Of The Day that was given by each school and teachers as well.
          - After that , we sang the National anthem , Negaraku followed by the State anthem , Sabah Tanah Airku while the flag was hoisted simultaneously.
9.00 am – 12.00 noon
Bush Cooking Competition

         - This competition was carried out between 4 schools only as Maktab Sabah was in shortage of participants.
         -  We were asked to cook as much dish as we can based on the ingredients that were divided fair and square.
         -   This might be quite a challenge for us as we need to cook on a campfire and kept the fire going by adding dried twigs and dried leaves to the fire.
12.00 noon – 1.00pm
Freshen Up Session

1.00 – 2.00 pm
Closing Ceremony




























         - It was led by Siti Syairah and me myself.
         - After that , Rotarian Rizal gave a fruitful speech to the newly elected BOD’s.
          - Next , the President of The Interact Club from 5 various school was assigned to give a speech on what they have learned throughout this wonderful camp.
         - Souvenirs were also given by the Rotary Club to Outward Bound Sabah.
         - Then , the moment of truth. The winner for the Bush Cooking Competition was announced. 3rd place goes to SM La Salle , 2nd place goes to SM Lok Yuk and 1st place goes to SM St.Francis’ Convent (M) and SM All Saints . Acccording to Mr.Pius , the head facilitator of Outward Bound Sabah , the competition was a special case whereby we have 2 winners . He also said ‘ In my eyes , everyone is a winner and no one is a loser’ . That very word still mingle in my mind until today J
         - We ended the closing ceremony with a group photo.
2.00 pm
Departure
         -  All of us bid farewell and thanked the facilitators , Outward Bound Sabah.
         - Last but not least , we said goodbye to our fellow BOD’s and hugged each other. For the girls only though. J

In short , all of us have a superb time during the camp . There was never a dull moment and in fact it was filled with good memories.Hopefully, with this once in a lifetime experience will propel us to serve well for the Interact Club as well as for the future endeavour. Laughter might be shared, friendship may be made, but the wisdom and lesson gained, are priceless.
