International Understanding Day 2013
On the 21st
of April 2013 , The International Understanding Day Competition was held at
Suria Sabah Shopping Mall from 10.30 am until 4 pm. This competition comprises
of 5 categories ;
- Best Stall
- Best Food
- Best Costume
- Best Info
- Best Dance
- and Overall Champion
7 schools took place in
this colourful and vibrant event namely SM St. Francis Convent, SM La Salle, SM
Lok Yuk, SM All Saints, Maktab Sabah, KK High School and SM Stella Maris. These
are the countries chosen by each schools J

The event started off
with The Rotarians visiting every booth of each school to judge the decoration
of the stall , the foods prepared and the information counter of each
particular country. Not long after that, the modelling costume competition took
place. Undeniably, there were so many magnificent and beautiful costumes. The
crowd went bezerk after seeing the models, especially the ladies ;) Right after
that, the dance competition was held. The dancers were so amazing with their
mesmerizing dance move! Overall ,every school delivered such stunning
performances. At 3 pm , the results
came in. It was such a tense moment for every interactors. As for our school ,
we won ;
Not only that , we were also crowned The Overall Champion for The International Understanding Day Competition 2013! :) Every school did a great job too! :)
A heartfelt gratitude to Chelsea Lim ( International Service Director ) as she did a great job leading us, planning stuffs and she was also present everyday for the IU Day preparation , Rayvienia Jane ( President ) as our dearest leader and advisor , Marisa Ezrah as our stall decoration director, Sharlina Gilbert and Rowena Lee as the dance choreographer, the models Melissa Tatiana, Ivy June & Rosemary Kaur. Also to Siti Syairah as the info department director,all the BOD’s, and to all the Interactors. We would also like to express our greatest appreciation to our beloved teacher advisors , Mrs Wee Lian Lui & Mrs. Siska Meme Yakob, sponsors, family members, ex-Franciscans, friends, supporters and to all involved in this joyful event for your tender care & loving support!Thank You! To all the Franciscan interactors , our hard work finally paid off!
