END POLIO NOW AWARENESS: FUN RIDE & FUN RUN 2017

Wow never knew I could finish a 10 km run!

The End Polio Now Awareness: Fun Ride & Fun Run was organized by Rotary Club, meaning to spread awareness regarding the need to end the potentially fatal disease, Polio. Interactors from each participating school were so pleased to be given a chance to have 10 people per club, sponsored by RCKK to join the Polio Run. It was held on the 30^th of April, 2017, at the Hockey Stadium, Likas Sports Complex. The mentioned Interact Clubs were from our school, SM La Salle, Sabah College, SM Lok Yuk and KK High School. Some schools decided not to take up the sponsorship and not take part due to an upcoming exam.

Before we hit the 10 km, some exercises and stretches were done at the hockey stadium. We made way for the cyclists to start off their 21 km ride first. Soon we were off on our feet to reach the end point. I gotta admit, it was one stressful 10 km. Despite some of us not being athletes, we all still managed to finish the run and received our finisher medals. Yayy us!

The event continued with lucky draws. One of our school’s participant, Roselle, was sprinkled with luck that day, and won herself a Tong Hing voucher. Towards the end of the event, we all went back sweaty(and maybe smelly), but healthy.
