ORPHANAGE TRIP :)

On the 28th of May which was a Saturday, the interact club of our school organized a trip to an orphanage by the name of Rumah Kanak-kanak Papar. 22 interactors and 3 teacher advisers joined this trip. This trip wouldn't have happen without the careful planning of the social service director, Vyonie Vyve. The aim of this trip was to give a helping hand to the orphanage by donating food items to ease their burden. The trip was also a chance for all the senior and junior interactors to bond. Everyone assembled at school at 8 am and we left by bus as soon as everyone was present.

When we reached the orphanage, we received a warm welcome from the warden of the orphanage and we were graced with the presence of all the children. The orphanage consist of infants till teenagers. After hearing a welcome speech from the warden, we wasted no time to get to know the children. We begun with a netball competition between the interactors and the orphanage staff. It was a tough game and sfc lost to the staff by 16-0.

After that exciting game, we played some games with all the children. After dividing everyone to a few groups, we played making the best cheer, 'bomb', musical chairs, statue dance and tons of other games.

Everyone managed to make new friends and create new ties with the children and teenagers. After lunch, we carried out our cleaning session. We cleaned the dining area, kitchen and the hall. Even though it was tiring, we still had fun.

After the clean up, we felt extremely happy for doing a good cause for all the children. Before we left, Madam Wee Lian Lui presented the orphanage warden a token from our school. We distributed cookies and souveniers to all the children and then it was time to leave. Saying goodbye was a heartbreaking affair because all the children taught us a valuable lesson. They taught us to be grateful with what we have been blessed with and to value our fortunate lives. We hope to do more charitable activities in the future to teach all the interactors the value of love and care.
