140 teams participated comprising of 342 students in the regional competition held at Kian Kok Middle School on Sat, 22, July, making it the biggest ever participation."

As you may have guessed, I-Quiz is a competition where participants are tested on their general knowledge in a variety aspects. To test our IQ's and a great chance to broaden our knowledge. Forming teams of 3, our school had a total of 17 teams joined, 51 people in total, comprising of Interactors and non-Interactors. Participants from each school all gathered at Kian Kok Middle School and when the doors to the hall were opened, everyone went in and took their seats. A table for each team. The Rotarians avoided teams from the same school to sit near to each other, in order to avoid cheating.

Before the quiz started, the President of the Rotary Club of Bandar Sunway, and the Youth Director of Rotary Club Kota Kinabalu, Mr. Joshua Ho, went on stage to give a few words. Everyone present even watched an inspiring video that was attached with a catchy song. The quiz started shortly afterwards. Each team was required to write down the answers in a piece of paper provided for every question that was shown through a slideshow. There was also a rotarian voicing out each question on stage.

We had a break after the quiz ended. Everyone went over to the canteen to have breakfast that was provided. The session continued with a slideshow displaying the answers one by one. The finalists were called on stage for the next round. One by one, teams were disqualified until we have the only team standing, which will be the champion for the 2017 regional competition. The reigning champion was a team from KK High School Interact Club, under Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu South. Congratulations to them!

But that's not it. For the ones who stayed till the end, there was an opportunity to win an umbrella from the Rotary Club, for whoever was able to give the right answer. Questions were open to everyone there and those who would wish to answer, would be answering through the nearest microphone perched. When the umbrellas were all given away, that marked the end of the event, I-Quiz.
